VIII of Swords
Ah, the Prison card. She stands strong and peaceful. Now, what
kind of prison has she made for herself? Is she in a bad relationship?
What about that lousy job she slaves day in and day out hating.
Maybe she is depressed and doesn’t know how to get out of
it. Maybe she is afraid to make positive changes in her life.
Look closer. The bindings are loose; she could wiggle right out
of them. Her blindfold is even loose, she could see if she so
chose. She already has one foot on land and one in the water.
That implies that there is some balance in her life. She just
needs to have the courage to take actions to break loose.
In the mean time, she will be at the mercy of other people whims.
Another part of this card is the fact that someone is in prison
or is going to prison. Look for the Justice card to see if it
is a legal matter. Maybe the Hermit card shows up. He tells that
she is bound spiritually and is afraid to move forward. If the
Tower card shows we know she has either emotional or mental problems.
Is the Heirophant card there? He tells us about her intimate relationships.
No matter the reason she is one very scared person.
This card also shows for males.

In reverse: There
is major confusion and lack of confidence, even jealousy surrounding
this person. Who is in control of their life? Aren’t they
tired of that? Don’t they need to live another kind of life?
Goodness, there are so many soul-searching questions for them
to handle. The fact that this card shows up says that they are
ready to search for answers. Be sure to encourage them to get
help if they need it.
