IV of Swords
As the number Four represents stability in the form of law and
order so does this card. I call this the “Body, Mind and
Soul” card.
The stained glass represents a spiritual or religious foundation
to which the figure has turned for protection while he is repose.
He is taking time to heal, to rest or simply to take time for
self.
What excites me about this card is the way the Swords are configured.
There are three gray ones on the wall. The one under the figure
is yellow and is set in yellow. The number Three is the number
for fruition, the number One is singular for self, and the number
Four is the foundation for all that we are able to build on. The
hands are in a prayer position. Or, could he be in meditation?
Either way, he is smart enough to know that he needs the down
time and is willing to make the attempt to help himself. Could
his need for that time alone be physical, spiritual, mental or
emotional? Look to the surrounding cards for further information.

In reverse: Someone
is pushing too hard. There is almost too much pressure in this
person’s life.
There is attempt to repress or block this person from achieving
an important goal. It could result from the querant putting limitations
up as blocks because of lack of confidence or unhappiness,
It could mean that the quarent is not getting enough sleep or
rest. Again, check out the surrounding cards for reasons.
