III of Swords
On an emotional level, this card is known as the Heartbreak card.
There have been lots of tears surrounding a past or present situation.
Look for the Justice card that suggests legal problems, Cup cards
for emotional issues and Swords for mental stress that has gotten
out of hand. Wands can tell us that there are career problems,
and the Pentacles are all about money issues. It also speaks of
jealousy, separation and sorrow. Sometimes the querant is in the
midst of a crisis. All of that gray lets us know that they are
learning hard lessons, and willing to use them to go forward.
Another meaning of this card, especially with any of the travel
cards can mean a difficult trip, one that is disrupted by bad
weather.

In reverse: This
card in reverse implies that the hurt was caused intentionally
to the querant. Check the layout for Court cards that give clues
to the identity of the aggressor.
This card can show that hurt is passing and the querant has a
better understanding of self and is no likely to repeat this lesson.
