IX of Cups
What an ego! This fellow thinks that he has it all. With his
arms crossed, he sits protecting his emotions. He doesn’t
realize that people can come behind him and grab his emotions,
in spite of his crossed arms over his heart chakra. The cups sit
on a blue tablecloth implying he even believes that he has his
thoughts under control. The red hat shows his passionate need
to keep it all in together.
Now that he has all of this wonderful control, what is he going
to do with it?
There is the element of material success in this card. There is
comfort and well being for this person and his future. Let’s
hope that he does not let it become the most important thing in

Reverse: There is
little confidence in his emotional status. This person needs reassuring
that he has the ability to regain self-concept and dignity.
He needs to know that creating emotional walls is not necessary.
This reverse card with The Tower card can mean the querant is
coming out of a difficult time, but with great emotional and psychological
scars. It may be appropriate to suggest professional help. In
the case of a divorce, this can imply that there is no emotional
trust or communication between the two people.
