Types of Tarot Card Decks

There are thousands of wonderful decks to choose from. But, the Waite/Rider, the Aquarian, Swiss, Aleister Crowley, the Marseille, are among the most popular. Only you can find that special deck that fascinates you. Find one that “talks” to you. You will development a wonderful working relationship.

I have found that the Waite/Rider deck is the most complete because each card is fully illustrated with its specific color, astrological, numeric and symbol content. A close second is the Universal deck. If you learn from either of these decks you will have a rich foundation from which you can read any deck with the depth and clarity that the cards deserve.

Many books have been written just on the history of the ancient Tarot cards, but few with the accuracy of the ones offered by Stan Kaplan and Richard Cavendish. Your foundation should include one or more books by these fine authorities.

Keep in mind that you are learning from both Eastern and Western philosophies when you study the cards. They have become a melting pot for the spiritual and physical realties for both of these philosophies.

Because we are studying this melting pot we are able to examine our inner being as well as teach others to listen to theirs.
