Sharing the Death Card

Because the Major Arcana Card named Death often causes the querant to have a sense of fear or dread, I feel it is necessary to examine the reader’s part in discussing it with the querant when the card appears.

It is true that this card will express a warning of physical death. However, I have found this to be rare. Often the querant is already aware of the possibility. The Death card does not necessarily notify the querant of his own death. The card may indicate a ling-term illness of a family member. Or, the querant may gain an insight to his life conditions triggered by the recent loss of a friend or family member.

Tarot - Death Card

This card speaks of many kinds of death. The end of a business or a realationship are types of deaths. A change in attitude or way of life is another form of death. I will discuss this card more when we study the Major Arcana.

It is your responsibility as an advisor to give whatever the information you receive to the querant. Please, please be as diplomatic and as kind as you can if you truly see a physical death. It is there for them to know and to have fair warning. You are there to provide as much help as possible in conveying this information. But remember, your responsibility ends there. You should have no guilt about being among the living when you see physical death in their cards. Nor should you volunteer for extra duty in helping this Individual deal with the rest of their life. If you can assist them in their journey from this world to the next and your assistance is requested, then you are obligated to help. Sometimes, this is nothing more than suggesting counseling or groups that can be supportive to them.

Sometimes asking a question about a loved one’s health is a good way to introduce that part of the layout.

I trust that you will use common sense, ethics and kindness in handling this sensitive
Matter.
