Mr. llanes has created compositions for the piano, guitar, flute, percussion, is a bilingual singer songwriter, and he has choreograqphed, staged and produced ten full-length ensemble ballets. He has appeared as a guest artist or performed throughout the Southwest, including Ballet East, Dee McCandless of Invisible Ink, Ballet Folklorico Atzlan, Sinbad and the Talking Drums, the Dance Theater of the Southwest, Roy Lozano's Ballet Folklorico of Texas, the Houston International Festival, the Austin Dance Umbrella's "Dance Heroes", The Seaqtle Based Lightworkers Conference in Houston, and has lectured and performed at the Whole Life Expo in Austin. Commissioned works include: "Body Language", a literary, musical, dancical poetry persentation commissioned in 1982 by the Texas Circuit Writers; the second act of the tex Sesqulcentennial opera "Cynthia Parker" by Julia Smith commisoned by the University of Texas at Austin:, and the recreation of the dance and music of the ancient Aztec ceremonial dances, "Dance to the Four Directions", and the "Dance of Life and Death: commissioned by Mexio-Arte of Austin for the 1986 celebration of "Dia de los Muertos". Mr. Llanes teaches dance and integral Hatha Yoga. He also performs and teaches dance and art to children. As guest artist in the school districts of Austin, Denton and San Antonio, he has also conducted classes and workshops in art-related facilities such as the Southwest Crafts Center, Carver Community Cultural Center, laguna Gloria Art Museumm the Witte Museum of San Antonio, and Austin Childre's Musium. He has contributed to establishing arts curricula and conducted workshops for teachers on how to work with creataive processes. Well known for his ability to channel healing energy and a veteran performer of 30 years, he heals through dance, music, and ritual. His performances which combine dance and music are in themselves a healing experience. He is a 3rd degree Reike Master and conducts healing circles in which he teaches us to awaken to our own ability to heal. He tours around the world with StarBridge, the Caravan of Light, utilizing multi-dimensional healing arts. Daniel brings the ancient and modern rituals together to create a healing vortex through a participatory event of movement, sound, music and poetry, known as the Circle Gathering Uniting Earth, Sky and You. For more than 12 years, Daniel has studied traditional Aztec folk healing techniques and plant medicine with Modesta Lavana, who comes from an unbroken line of curadoas from Yayapan, Morelos, Mexico. Since 1995 he has been working and traveling with Valentian Iqurtchenko, world renowned Russian spiritual healer. This well rounded view of healing allows him to work with a group or with individuals, depending on what they are ready for. Daniel is based in Austin, Texas and has a beautiful healing center, on the Colorado River, Red Bluff Studios, which is used by many artists and lightworkers for initmate dance, music, poetry and theater performances, as well as for lectures, workshops, seminars and retreats.
