Elizabeth began researching the spiritual side of birth in 1989. In early 2001 she and her husband Neil published their initial findings focusing on the pre-life state in Cosmic Cradle. Books II and III, to follow, focus on biological conception, pregnancy, and birth. Neil Carman, Ph.D. has a love for nature, graduating with a BS and MS in botany from the State University of Iowa and a Ph.D. in botany from the University of Texas at Austin and served as an assistant professor teaching biology, botany, and comparative studies, including a course on the scientific basis of consciousness. He performed biological laboratory research at three major universities and conducted field studies in North America, South America, and Central America, leading to articles published in scientific journals. Environmental interests led him to serve as a state air pollution investigator with the Texas Air Control Board. Currently he is a state and national environmental policy leader working for the Sierra Club on air quality in Texas and as a technical adviser to Houston residents on air toxics and smog. He has spent more than thirty years investigating and speaking about consciousness.
